TDEC Green Star Certified American Snuff Co. Chooses Environmentally Friendly Ozone Water Treatment for Chiller

American Snuff is committed to sustainability in all areas of operations to ensure the company’s long-term success, leading the company to choose environmentally friendly ozone water treatment for their chiller. It is the goal of each American Snuff location to embed sustainability efforts into their daily operations. These sustainability activities impact their products and operations, employees, and the community in which they live.

American Snuff Co. has been awarded the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s (TDEC) highest award for sustainable business practices – the Tennessee Green Star Partnership Three Star Certification.

In June 2016, American Snuff implemented the Integrated Management System (IMS) from Flozone Services, Inc. as part of the company’s sustainability objectives. The IMS offers a non-chemical water treatment protocol that is environmentally friendly, while also reducing utility and maintenance expenses. The E3 Sentinel, in conjunction with the Integrated Management System (IMS), offers enhanced 24/7 monitoring of the HVAC system that insures tighter controls over water and energy consumption.

We are pleased to report that Flozone Services has provided water, sewer, energy, and chemical reductions, as well as carbon footprint savings.

Note: additional savings in labor and equipment life cycle were not included in this report.
